Cyber Monday

Are you cyber shopping today??? I *did* grab a few digi things I've had my eye on over the weekend. A couple of the digi shops I like had extended Black Friday sales, so I took the opportunity to grab a few things from my wish list, and of cours the usual IMPULSE BUYS, lol. I will share what I got later this week - I am ITCHING to use all my new goodies! Happy shopping to you, if you venture out today!

This is just a quick post - I wanted to share another page from my 2008 calendar project. Below is my April page. Each spring and fall, I drag the children to a nearby park for an outdoor photo shoot. I just LOVE portraits in natural light - mainly because my photography skills aren't up to par yet, and natural light allows me to just point and shoot, and not have to think too hard about my camera settings, lol! These pictures are from our spring portrait shoot, the "outtakes" - meaning, not what I chose for my portraits, but some fun shots for Mom's calendar. Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving!

What a wonderful weekend so far! We have been enjoying time off from work, good food, and family time this weekend. SO MANY things to be thankful for this year - I can't begin to list them all! After a FAB MEAL yesterday, we got ourselves organized and headed to the movies. We chose Enchanted, and we were not disappointed! Even the guys, who, lets face it, are real "guys guys" enjoyed the show.

Today, we are laying low - NO BLACK FRIDAY shopping for us - I will pay extra to avoid the crowds, thank you very much! We are trying to minimize our Christmas craziness, and avoiding the crowds seemed to play into that, lol.

I spent the day working on a 2008 calendar for my Mom for a Christmas present. Have you seen the calendars at the ShabbyShoppe? I chose the 2 page calendar, but there are several options to pick from. These are super easy - all you need to do is size your photos, and drag them onto the document. Easy Peasy Fab!

Below is my November page - this was a favorite photo from this year. We were able to head up to visit my brother this summer, and he showed W how to shoot (fully supervised, of course). I love the concentration they are both showing. It is bittersweet, as I know my Dad wanted to be the one to share his love of hunting with his grandsons. Uncle B will do a great job sharing this hunting tradition with the boys.

November Desktop

Have you seen the November Desktop freebie from Shabby Princess? I remember when I first saw these - I was like "What the heck is a desktop???" LOL. Hey - it's a natural blonde! Before discovering these, I just used a regular photo as my computer desktop background, and I'd change it every so often, whenever I had a new picture of the kids or whatever. Usually only a couple times a year. NOW...lol. I am OBSESSED with having my new desktop READY TO GO on the first of each month. I am itching to design my own too, but for now, these are so handy with the little calendar, and I *love* how there is room on the left side for my computer icons!

If you are new to digi - these are the PERFECT way to begin! You will really feel like you have accomplished something, and the hard stuff is already done for ya! You just need to open the file in your photo editing software, and then drag your pictures onto it. EASY PEASY and FAB! Let me know if you give it a try!

My desktop features my Dad. My Dad passed away in December of 2005. I think about him all the time, but particularly in November, as he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and all around outdoorsman, so he was my inspiration for my November Desktop.
